Sling/Shoulder bag Lumix G9+4 lenses+Cobra flash?

I recently upgraded from Panasonic G7 to G9 which is quite larger. For body + 2 lenses I have the included Panasonic shoulder bag.

I'm now looking for a bag, preferably sling or across body shoulder bag, which will accommodate most of my gear : G9 + 2 large zoom lenses (P 12-60 & PL 8-18) + 2 small prime lenses (P pancake 20mm 1.7 & P 42,5mm) + Cobra flash Godox TT350o.

For the time being, I have the following in mind. Any opinion or other bags you would recommend?

- Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 20 (too small?) https://www.thinktankphoto.com/products/mirrorless-mover-20

- Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 25i (seems quite long) https://www.thinktankphoto.com/products/mirrorless-mover-25i

- Think Tank Tumstyle 10 V2 (too small? ) https://www.thinktankphoto.com/products/turnstyle-10-v2

- Think Tank Tumstyle 10 V2 (seems large) https://www.thinktankphoto.com/products/turnstyle-20-v2

- CADeN sling bag (side opening, how practical to use? Cheap?) https://www.amazon.com/CADeN-Waterproof-Compatible-Mirrorless-Accessories/dp/B06XHF1FNB

Re: Sling/Shoulder bag Lumix G9+4 lenses+Cobra flash?

The Think Tank 20 IMHO is too small. I'd forget that one.

The Think tank 25i would be tight. I have that one. It is not too long, but is a tad small, although I have used it with the O12-100 and a couple of primes. You might like it - tight, but nice bag.

I'd suggest the think tank 30 - Deeper than the and and slightly larger then the 25i. Will take longer/bigger lenses, and your flash.

Peace.

I recently purchased the ThinkTank Retrospective 6 shoulder bag for my G95 and can fit 6 lenses comfortably in it.

It has been superceded now by the Retrospective 7 which looks a touch bigger, so would be ideal for the G9. The retrospective is a better quality than the Mirrorless Mover range, higher quality material and the dividers are better too.

I have the Turnstyle 10 and 20 and think they are great sling bags. I'm pretty sure the 10 is too small for all the gear that you list, or at least that it would be quite cramped.

The 20 would accommodate all of those items. Too large? Not sure what you mean by that. Too large to carry around? I find it a very comfortable sling bag.

The 20 would not be cramped with all of the items you list, but I don't think it would be overly large for them - it might give you room for another future lens. I guess if you are looking for a bag that all of the items you list would JUUUUUST barely fit in, without any room left over, then, yeah, it might be too big for you.

Re: Sling/Shoulder bag Lumix G9+4 lenses+Cobra flash?

Thanks everyone for your answers, I finally settled on the Think Tank Turstyle 10 V2

The objective was to be able to fit most of my gear:

Camera G9 & 14-140 + 20mm 1.7 + 42.5mm 1.7 + 8-18mm + Strap + Cobra flash + Large power bank + accessories

While keeping it accessible on the go i.e. without having to sit or put the bag down:

It all fits in, with camera ready to be picked up from the grip

Small lenses can be stacked to maximize "vertical volume" usage, cobra goes in empty space

20mm & 45.5mm stacked with enough empty space for cobra flash

Space below the grip can be used for the rocket blower or for a medium size lens when a small lens is on the camera. The divider makes this space easy to use.

Rocket air blower easy to grab when camera is out of bag

I settled on the 10 and not the 20 because I wanted something compact (m43 soul it is!)

20 cents of € as a size reference

Re: Sling/Shoulder bag Lumix G9+4 lenses+Cobra flash?

Below you can see the same content in the 20 V2.0, it's definitely less cramped and with some reorganization you can fit much more lenses. However, it's a much bigger bag.

Enough space for a longer lens such as 50-20mm put vertically in the bag

The only think I don't like with my Turnstyle is the extra length of the strap. There is no easy way to tuck it. I can roll everything but I like to keep this extra length which is just what I need to release the bag and put it in front of me while standing.

And if you use it with a neck/across should strap, you might get a "slicing effect" on your neck. Since I now use a Peak Design Clutch, it no longer is an issue. No point having a neck/shoulder strap when the bag can easily be accessed in couple of seconds.

Another vote for retrospective 7. I use it or my S5 and have room for camera with a zoom lens, pluss 2 spare lenses. Also fits a small notebook/ipad and have a couple of extra additional pockets. Seems to be high quality fabric and is very comfortable.

Use that little velco strap that you see at the bottom of your excess strap to secure it to the main strap. If you need to adjust the strap length, this end will then slide up and down the main strap as needed.

I like the OpTech mini quick connectors, which I use with wrist straps or sling straps attached to one quick connector on the grip side of the camera. They also sell neck straps that attach to quick connectors on both camera lugs, but I don't care for neck straps. When I'm carrying cameras in a case, I use wrist straps. If I go out with just one camera and no case, I may use a sling strap. I remove the little metal triangle pieces that are on the lugs of Panasonic cameras as soon as I buy the camera.

When you don't want to use any strap at all, the tiny connector hanging from the camera lug doesn't get in the way.

They also make a finger cuff, which is sufficient security for the tiny GM5:

I have a Retrospective 7 and can fit a G9 with 12-100 , 8-18, FL-600 flash along with a lot of other bits and a Galaxy Tab S. Couple of small primes would go in no problem, I will be taking an Olympus 12-45 along too.

Not a good idea to remove the triangular strap connectors, bare rings can cause wear to those mini qd loops.

I have pictures to prove the point and show the wear, others have also found the same problem. Even worse if you are only using one, it fails and that's see you later camera.

PD had to redesign their connectors at least twice and maybe three time because of excess wear to the thin cords.

We disagree on that. I see no point for the triangular connectors unless you want to use a 1/4" wide nylon webbing strap. The triangles are pointless if using the OpTech mini connectors, which will thread through the bare lug easily.

I have been using the OpTech connectors for many years. It's a good idea to inspect them occasionally, but I have NEVER seen ANY wear on any of mine. Now, I mostly use them for security purposes. If I have a wrist strap on, I carry the camera by the grip, not dangling from the strap. Sometimes when using sling straps I do let the camera dangle, but I don't do that extensively. Perhaps you do, or perhaps you have Oly cameras and their lugs have sharper edges than Panasonic lugs.

But dangling a camera a lot with the triangles in place risks wearing out the camera lug itself, as JeffHarris knows all too well: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/64454718

Full resolution crop from the above linked thread

I'd much rather wear out a nylon OpTech cord (which as I say, has never happened for me) than wear out the camera's lug.

I carry my camera and one lens in a Think Tank Digital Holster 10 II. I like to be able to just drop my camera in a holster bag. Also have a side lens pouch I use at times.

I carry 3 lenses and a few accessories in a Think Tank Hubba Hiney.
