Beautiful, he/she was looking straight on you - perfect shot!

...and the background is also very nice, much better than gray mist.

Cheers,

Both, dragonfly and butterflies were so skittish... I can't imagine how to get closer with real macro lens, considering it was quite windy.

Anyway I'm still impressed with 100-400, probably It's the most frequently used lens with my X-T3.

Excellent work, Artur. I've been using my 100-400 to shoot butterflies for years now... never even tried it with a macro lens since getting close enough to use one with butterflies really isn't often an option. Beautiful rendering and bokeh.

Seriously, it can be challenging enough just to nail the subject, no less with a good environment featured as well to offset the subject. But that's why one returns again and again, no? I do appreciate the skill and determination that it takes, and which you are so good at showing.

Thank you Bob,

Friends have taken photos of my at work.  Sometimes they capture intense concentration and other times a huge smile.

Very nice shot, Morris. These guys are quite common here in the Pac NW and are also probably my favorite raptors to shoot in flight. They tend to fly in a pretty predictable pattern, particularly when hunting, which makes it a bit easier to track and photograph them than some other species.

Very nicely captured.
