Curious little jumping spider
4

The winter is so mild here that when the sun comes out the bugs fire up. This spider was out hunting ants on my front fence, so i ran back into the house and grabbed a 16mm extension tube to slap on the 18-55.

Missing an arm but still loving life!

An ant was coming up the fence post, and i waited for the shot, but it turned around and the spider went hungry.

Jumping spiders have so much personality, like a huntsman but without the fear factor.

Splendid! Great to get the comet in an interesting but doable sky.

Tern close up images
5

There is a tern at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside NY that likes to fish by waiting on the railing of the southern most bridge in the preserve. If I approach slowly I can get very close and do some lovely portraits. On my first approach I was able to take some mid body images. After it dove in and came back to the railing it was at the perfect distance for full body images. The next time it returned so close to me that I had to back up to focus.

X-T3 with Meike 35mm F1.4 at F4 to F5.6 or so.  Pseudo HDR.

Demolition at local park.  I think it used to be a restroom.

At the equator - over 1670 km/hour.  Less by about a factor of cos(lat_degree) as you got North or South of the equator. You seldom notice it until you try to track something in space.
