Canon G9X MkII dust on sensor

I have Canon G9X Mk II and have been very happy with it but have just noticed there is a circular speck on the images. It might be a speck of dust on the sensor or on the inner surface of the lens. I suspect the sensor.

I live in the UK - is it worth sending it in to Canon for a repair?

Mind explaining how one can "... use an air brush to blow the dust off ..." with the G9X II being that one would need to dissembled camera?

Yes, I fear the dust is within so cannot be blown off.

Re: Canon G9X MkII dust on sensor

If it's dust it should only be noticeable (or should be more noticeable) on shots taken at smaller apertures although the 1” sensor might be affected at larger apertures than APS-C or full frame sensors due to the even smaller pixelsBut I don't really know.

If the camera is under warranty then I'd try Canon for a warranty claim because dust shouldn't be able to get onto the sensor.

Having said that my G1X III has one dust speck on the sensor which is visible in images taken at f16 but the dust didn't appear until it was well out of warranty and in any case the spot is easily edited out in post processing.

I sent it off to Canon UK  and they charged me £104 to clean and service the camera.  I was told the camera was forwarded to Canon's facility in Germany where they do the work.
