very sharp systhem camera with good CA elimination

- naturally, the time choice wheel on the top of the body of the x-e1 missed !

if you fit the menue program to highest color saturation, strong sharpness and highest contrast (never 200 or 400 % weakness !) + highest noise reduction  and use pixel peaking for manual sharpening of old MF lenses with adapter, you'll get best results. It is necessary to press the small wheel at the back side in oder to get magnification in viewfinder. This important detail is not remarked in user manual !

+++ up to 12.800 ISO no moirée visible (I use auto iso 200-6.400)

+++ extreme sharp pictures, good cotrast, nice colors

++   big posters 40 x 60 cm no problem

-  / O    difficult flash using, because viewfinder remains dark / no HSS posible !!!

nearly full recommendation

my best camera at a very low price

Only problem with this is that sharpness and contrast are almost entirely lens sided characteristics and don't really have much to do with the camera at all. Except of course for whatever software sharpening or contrast it might apply to JPG's. However my point is that you can get extremely sharp and high contrast photos with basically any camera as long as you use a good lens. The main difference between cameras image quality wise lies in noise and dynamic range.

Re: very sharp systhem camera with good CA elimination

Dear Jay,

image resolution depends on the lens, naturally. This is the one side of the coin.

An example.: Pentax DA 3.5-5.6/18-55 (not WR!) achieves 35-45 LP/mm with K-5 16 MP (not a professional lens, isn't it?), but with x-T100 75-80 LP/mm 24 MP (self tested) why for? - because of higher resolution of the FUJI sensor. With adapter you haven't lens specific modification no more.

No difference in resolution between the cheap x-T100 and the much more expensive Sony a 7 III - self tested. This is the other side of the coin. 1/5 of the price by Fuji for the same resolution under same conditions and with same test object. This is an  astonishing result, because Fuji APSC Fuji beats Sony full size.

Kind regards - joe
