Blue-throated bee eaters

I had a wonderful day over the weekend shooting blue-throated bee eaters with my EM5-iii, 40-150 and MC20. They are great-hunters and fascinating to watch. Here are some photos of the day.

For the size and weight, I was really pleased with the results.

They are really fabulous shots--well done!

Just wondering what software you used to process these shots given that the iso settings were pretty high?

News flash from 2018: ISO 2500 is no longer pretty high.  Any noise there is easily tamed by any capable program.  m43 20MP sensors are really quite good.

Very nice.

Should have added.

Yes the 40-150 Pro with MC 20 is amazing. Extremely happy with mine on birds also. Have never had a 2x TC before now that was really useable. Have had two trips cx that I was going to use the40-150 & MC 20 on.

Wish I had the chance to photo Blue-throated bee eaters.

Thanks a lot! And yes, I am very happy with the 40-150 and MC20 combination. Only slight gripe is I need to get it down to F/8 to get sharpness I am happy with which of course results in higher ISO when shooting birds where I need a high shutter speed.

If you are ever in Singapore I would be happy to let you know where to shoot these fellas.

Thanks for the compliment Rob. I use Topaz Denoise, which seems to work well. If I shoot at ISO2500 it cleans up pretty nicely if the shot is properly exposed.

Thanks, if we get back I will take you up on that. Last visit we were amazed at the orchid display. Sorry I don't remember the name. I had no idea some were so small & some so large.

May your next image be your best.

Did you use a tripod or hand held.  I wish the 40-150 pro had lens Image stabilizer like the 300 pro
