A Couple of Insect Photos

I hope it's OK to post a couple of shots I took recently.  Both taken with EOS R, first shot using the Tokina 100mm ATX Macro and the second with the Canon EF 24-105mm L lens.

i could be wrong but these 2 shot seem to be overly sharpened, am i right? thanks.

Hmm.  They don't appear to look oversharpened to me, but I could be wrong.  Hopefully some others might chime in and offer an opinion.  I certainly don't want oversharpened pics.  Thanks for looking and commenting.

OK, here's what I would do. You obviously did heavy cropping so you will get a lot of pixilation, etc.

I would try up-scaling the photos - using Photoshop in the "Preserve details 2.0" mode. Then I would futz around with it from there. I think you'll find you get a smoother result that way. give it a shot. It can't hurt.

I agree with you. They're not overly sharp but just right.

I'm impressed with the detail coming from #2!

I’m sure that there are better ways to process the pics, but I think they look great as is.
