Samsung nx3000 lens error

Hi Everyone,

I have a samsung nx3000 already for years with the standard 16-50 mm lens. it was working fine. Until I bought a secondhand 50-200 mm lens. I tried it out when buying, made pics everything was ok.

Then I wanted to use it later in the day and all of a sudden my camera keeps saying check lens and makes a ticking sound. As if anything is stuck.

I can make pictures or videos, but it doesn`t sharpen the image, so everything is blurry.

Tried resetting, updating firmware, cleaning dust, removed battery, and SD card, but still doesnt work :s. Anyone else had this problem and has ideas how to fix it?

Really appreciated.

Is it the lens or camera? Does the standard zoom still work. Have you tried manual focus with the new lens.

What brand is the 50-200mm lens ?

Maybe you get better response in the Samsung forum or in the third party lens talk ?

Thanks for your response!

I think it`s the camera. It makes a ticking sound as if it cannot automatically regulate the lens. Manually also doesn`t work, because when I turn the camera on. I right away hear the ticking sound as if something is stuck. It does it with both lenses. I can manually zoom the 50-200mm, but the image is still blurry.

Normally the lens would open and close when turning on the camera. I think for optical stabilization, but that doesnt even happen.

It`s also a Samsung lens.I figured out in a different threat that I could wiggle the pin. tried that and it worked a few times, but it keeps getting stuck. I doesnt do it anymore with the standard 16-50mm, but still now and then with the 50-200 as if the lens is too heavy for the body and pushes the pin up, so it doesn`t make good contact. Ever heard of this by chance?

Re: Samsung nx3000 lens error

Hi there,

I have this exact same issue as you in 2022. Did you ever find a solution?

I think I know the reason why. My camera has been in storage for over 3 years with the battery inside. I charged it up last week and the camera was working fine (although a bit slow). I decided to get a 50 - 200mm lens, like yourself, which worked for a little while but is now displaying a whole host of issues such as Lens error 00(on all lenses), sd card not recognized and it wont connect to my pc anymore etc.

After lots of research I believe these issues are caused by the battery. Because the batteries are so old their strength (voltage) decreases over time, more so when left without regular recharges in storage. When using again after prolonged time it begins to make the camera malfunction as the voltage is no longer strong enough to make some system features work. The battery was likely still powerful enough to make the standard lens work when you first turned it one, but not powerful enough to make the larger lens work longterm. I believe that this excess strain from the larger lens on an already old and struggling battery has caused it to proceed past the point of no return and the voltage to dip further.

I have two new batteries on the way and will let you know if it solves the problem.

SOLVED!!!!

Okay, new batteries did nothing, however...

I was watching a video on youtube of a guy who buys and repairs nx cameras. His exact words were " most repairs are easy because its often just a connection that's come loose inside the camera".

So I figured, if this is a common problem he's encountered regularly then maybe that's my issue. Anyway, I opened the camera and indeed a connection had come loose.

I reconnected it and the camera immediately started working again. No issues at all and all errors have disappeared.

Maybe this is your issue too?

Hello, What kind of repair manoeuver did you make for the lens issue after you opened it up? I can only see a motherboard. For example, did you tighten any screws?
