iPhone does not recognize geo-location of gps-tagged RP photos

I brought my brand new Canon EOS RP on a hike and set up the GPS tracking functionality according to the user guide, meaning I had Bluetooth (BLE) activated such that the iPhone provides the GPS data when taking a photo with the RP (RAW only). While I think the following icons/ system settings indicate that this was working, I am struggling to see the geo-location in my iOS photo app after importing the photos:
1) RP shows a Bluetooth and GPS icon on the screen when taking a photo
2) When looking at the photos on the RP through the Canon Camera Connect app, the photos have a small „satellite“-like icon which also somehow gives me the impression of having a gps-tag included
So, when I import such a satellite-icon-tagged photo through the Camera Connect app into my iPhone/ iOS photo library, the photo only shows a time stamp but not a map/ location as with other photos taken directly with my iPhone (iPhone X, iOS 13.5)
So some questions to start with:
1) Does anyone have similar experiences?
2) Does it have to do with taking photos in RAW vs. JPEG (i.e. shooting RWA but importing as JPEG)?
3) How could I check that gps-data is indeed included with the imported JPEG photo (resp. check whether no geolocation is included)?
4) Is there any workflow that would allow to include the geo-locations such that the iOS photo app recognizes them?

EDIT:
So after googling further I found the solution myself... (also after checking the EXIF data ensuring that GPS data was indeed with the photos when importing them directly from the SD-card) For some non very apparent reason, the Camera Connect app has a hidden setting where you can choose „Don‘t delete location information“: When looking at your photos throught the Camera Connect app, tap on the gear symbol in the upper right corner, then go to „Delete location information“ where you can choose „don‘t delete“. I am wondering why this is so hidden, especially when you activate the gps-tracking by intention... anyhow, when importing photos, the geo-location comes now with it and the iOS photo app recognizes the location properly.
