Are you using spot metering, monochrome, custom white balance, or high ISO Speed NR?

Shooting real estate i normally use iso 100 or more if demanded focus is auto smooth

if video called for sometimes iso can be really high exposure is manual.

If you do a search for Canon's exclamation point in the viewfinder, you will find some people's answers to this. Don't specifically put T7i in your search, so that you don't narrow it down too much. Try reading those articles and see if it would apply to your Canon T7i. The exclamation point is a warning. One person cleared the exclamation point in the menu under WB shift/Bkt and hit clear all.  I'm not saying that will help you, but it's a start.  Other people referred to the manual.  I haven't the time to research all of the options, but I hope you find what I wrote helpful.

Read the fabulous manual.

The “exclamation point” icon is a warning that you've set one of four possible things:

1. monochrome mode — you are losing all colors and will not be able to restore them, unless you are shooting Raw

2. manual WB correction — you may not get the color fidelity you are expecting

3. ISO expansion mode — you may have high-ISO noise in your image

4. "spot" metering — youmay not get the metering for your overall image

Please re-word this. It doesn’t make any sense!

Why?  He already got the answers he was looking for.

It seemed clear to me. All Brian said is that he is seeing an exclamation mark in the viewfinder. And the replies to him gave him the fix he needed to make it go away.
