t seems that the wa conversion lens is not compatible with the exif data output.. Or is there an update? What firmware version is your camera on?

Yes, I noticed and also when used on my EX1. I'm not sure where to find the firmware version. My EX1 crashed while i was installing and Samsung very kindly sent it back to Korea and fixed at no cost even though out of warranty.

Hmm, I started up the camera and couldn't find the firmware version either. If I remember correctly, you need to have the Samsung "iLauncher" app installed on a computer and check the firmware while the camera is plugged in.

The exif issue is not a big deal though, just noticed it when checking one of your images.

I'm not sure if a firmware update would fix the issue. My EX1 dates from 2011 and has 'conversion lens on' and 'off' in the menu, so it looks as if the lens came out with the camera. As I said, Samsung fixed up the firmware up date, and it still has that fault in the .exif.

Someone else here may know the answer, maybe the OP.

Unfortunately, the Samsung "iLauncher" app no longer works. The app tries to open a Samsung URL which no longer exists. I imagine the Samsung URL was 'officially' owned by Samsung's Camera Division which has 'unofficially' announced that Samsung has 'officially' exited the camera market.

Yes, that make sense, or at least explains why it doesn't work. Horrible management of a desktop application though, relying on a now broken URL..

When a product or as in this case a whole product segment reach end of life and support is abandoned, it would be a nice gesture towards the customers to release the software as open source.

At least the parts that didn't migrate into the phone business.

A few macro shots from the garden today. Yes, I like flowers and gardening

The EX2F is a good macro tool for quick jpegs. I find that the AF is not as accurate in macro mode as in normal mode. Its a bit hit and miss, sometimes by a small margin, but still noticable. Can be handled with careful setup and MF adjustment, IF you have the time. But it sort of defies the purpose with a compact, automatic camera, if using the time needed to make a proper macro setup, you can use a dslr instead..

Nice shots. I haven't had my EX2f long enough to spot those issues. I have been very satisfied with cloe ups using my EX1. Different camera, different lens of course.

Great! Especially the first and the last. Have not tried macro that much. Mainly because I found a Canon G12 cheap (with some lens fault I can't see...), no lens cap and really good macro. My first Samsung compact, but I learned to use NX10 quickly. Any special advice with macro focusing?

I love the Canon G series. Had a G9 for years before it broke. The ex2f is a bit more confusing regarding the buttons and controls. A bit too easy to accidently move the "mode" and "drive" dials, and suddenly the camera behaves in an unexpected manner.

The little function button and menu is great though, quick and easy access to iso and exp. compensation and makes up for the lack of physical buttons.

I've found that using 'Smart Auto' gives the best results with macro focusing.

G10 was the main camera for years. Not used much now. G12 much more useful with the tilting screen. And these G cameras can take a lot of rough use. EX2f more for sunday walks, and meeting ladies... But I will use it more when the light is not so bright.

Re: "New" EX2f.

So, the Samsung mobile link app for Android gave up when upgrading my tablets android OS 😣. Can't connect for WiFi image transfer. But, I guess that's inevitable, it's not in the Google app Store anymore, I had to download the APK even a few years ago.

Has anyone tried the wifi enabled sd cards? Any compability issues?

It may still work if you install Samsung accessory service separately.
