Have an Oly E-P5 Thinking of changing to a Panny GX9
1

Hi people.

I am currently primarily a Fujifilm user with an X-T3 and several lenses. I was recently looking back through some of my older E-P5 pictures and realized how good many of them are. I decided to add a small micro four thirds set of grab and go gear. I will be keeping my Fujifim camera and portrait range lenses for times when I want what I believe is the better choice for paid work.

I picked up a used E-P5 at a good price. I also bought a few lenses, the 12mm Oly, the 25mm f1.4 Panny/Leica, and the 75mm f1.8 Oly.

I am thinking about replacing my E-P5 with a new GX9.

Getting to my question...What are your opinions about the differences between the color rendering, the noise levels, and general image quality between the E-P5 and the GX9?

All input is welcome. Banter about whatever. Criticize me for whatever. Have a sense of humor and some fun. I have a thick skin. I'm just seeking other viewpoints and perspectives.

I looked into this last year and decided that the GX9 is not a replacement for my EP5. Sure, there are a few features that the GX9 has that the EP5 does not, but, more so the other way around.

The two biggies are the 5 axis stabilizer and the 1/8000 shutter.

OK, the GX9 also has 5 axis but even with dual IS, it is not as good as the EP5.

In favour of the GX9 is the EVF. I wish the EP5 had an EVF and I do not consider the Pen F to be a replacement for the EP5.

I do not think it is worth selling your EP5 just to get a GX9. If you did not have your EP5, then a different story and a more difficult choice.
