A local landscape - G1x Mk3
6

Been lugging around my 6d Mk2 and really missed the form factor of my G12 (my daughter uses it and it is one of my favourite cameras) and the decent images I got out of the G7xMk2. Took the plunge on a G1x MK3 and have been getting to know the camera these last few days.

We are still staying at home here in Switzerland, but I've been venturing out on my bike as much as possible to get to know my local neighbourhood. Yesterday I shot a series of images and stitched them in Lr (I also tried the pano function, but didn't like processing the JPG). These aren't the most interesting or greatest pics, but happy that I have a more portable camera again for hiking / cycling. I used the G12 for this purpose for many many years... then moved to G7x2 and M6 and 6dMk2...

Local roads... so lovely in the morning, riding up to the high point of our greater neighbourhood.

Just up the road I stopped and visited these neighbours:

Neighbours

Then stopped to watch the light and sip some coffee:

Found a new spot to watch the light.

Beautiful soothing shots! Waiting for mine to arrive and I’ll be taking it to my trip in July hopefully if nothing more unexpected happens. I imagine I’ll enjoy using it. I’m just hoping the evf will be comfortable enough for glass wearers.

Thank you.

I wear glasses, multi-focal... so reading low, distance higher. I am getting used to the EVF. There is an adjustment dial for it that I've played with... my 6dMk2 with a regular VF works well enough, better without glasses, for sure, but that is a pain.

Great images.
Are you shooting mostly JPEG or RAW on your G1X III, and did your shoot your first image pano combined images in JPEG?

Thanks. I always RAW, then work in Lr (and the last shot was processed in Ps as well). I tried the pano feature And shot images to stitch later. I didn’t like how the JPG came out - the image above is a stitch.

Mike,

These are inspiring, beautiful shots...!

They remind me of the many blessings for which my wife and I are so grateful,  here in Northwest Arkansas.

LR does well with the G1X Mark III in particular.

Nice shots btw.

Thanks Tim. I went out again, but with the 6dMk2 and the Sigma 14-24.
