SX60 on screen icons

Hi, I have just picked up a SX60 HS as an alternitive to lugging my dslr and multiple lenses with me. I have gone through a downloaded mamual but can't find (or missed) the answer I'm looking for,

Is the stabilisation icon flashing in red, telling me the stabilization is working, or needs to be activated. IS is on in the settings.?

Whoeversaid the sx60 is not the best in low light wasn't wrong. I know the far end of the zoom range is not the easiest to work with, but it seems so easy to finish up at the long end.

I can't see the D7500 being made redundant any time soon.

I think you answered your own question..................... the red icon means you need to place it on a tripod to take the shot     Just experiment and it will be an awesome camera..................................................... I gave my daughter the an SX .... but she preferes to use her phone :))) Go figure :))))

Re: SX60 on screen icons

When I got home and looked at the info details, I can see why the icon was flashing. On Av in the trees, the shutter was down to 1/8/15. I had set a lowish auto iso limit which would not have helped.

It is just fussing that the stabilisation is not up to the job at the shutter speed but often it can be ignored with reasonable results.

They were wrong if considering it an expectation in assessing this sort of camera. These cameras are just not really designed for low light and it shows a lack of appreciation of the offsetting factors which are inevitable in the design of any such camera.

I can't see the D7500 being made redundant any time soon.

There is no one camera solution for anything so that will be the case.

In my opinion, the SX60 is a fantastic general photos superzoom camera.

Yes, the SX60 may not be the best choice to use for lower lights pictures.

For lower light pictures, maybe can consider to use the G7X III camera instead.
