Photographing new puppy with RF 35 and EOS R
17

I've been building out a little RF lens kit while I await the arrival of the R5, and as I also happened to get a new puppy this past weekend, I thought it might be a good time to rent an R (thanks, LensRentals!) and try out the 35 macro.

To keep things short and sweet: I absolutely love this lens. Light, sharp, contrasty, and most importantly, incredibly diverse from a creative standpoint given the macro capability. Allowed me to get a bunch of really great "detail" shots of the pup that our family will cherish for years to come.

Highly recommended, especially if you can pick it up as a refurb from Canon (I got mine for $350 with a full warranty).

Now, puppy pics!
