Canon 200D / SL2 built-in flash not firing

To clarify, the flash pops up fine. The flash itself doesn’t actually produce any bright light like it’s meant to. It only has a small faint blue light on the right side of the flash whenever it is supposed to flash. I’ve tried everything, i’ve called Canon, but cannot send my camera in for repairs since lockdown is still in effect. I’ve tried different settings, updated the firmware, popped the pin back up in the hot shoe , i’ve also done my own tests, like holding down the button in the flash housing compartment that lets the camera know if the flash popped up or not, and i haven’t gotten the Err 05 message, but when released i do not ever get that message. so it have nothing to do with the flash popping up incorrectly, nor the firmware. i’m 90% it’s a mechanical problem of some kind. please, any suggestions?
