55-200: Great lens for good light
6

In winter, my 55-200 was almost unused. But now, with better light, it becomes obvious that it can produce very good results. Only downside (beside the small apertures, which is a tribute so size, weight and costs) is the minimum distance of 100 cm. Sometimes I'd like to have a little smaller distance.
Here are some shots with different subjects and different focals lengths. To my mind, it is great fun shooting with this lens.

Nice images, I like that lens too. It's great for wandering around a zoo too!  Thanks for sharing.

You could try extension tubes or close up lenses if you want to reduce that minimum focus distance.

Nice potos! I am really enjoying this lens, too. I have used both extension tubes and an old screw on macro filter to good effect.

Thanks to all feedbacks. I will try to follow your hints to reduce minimum distance for this lens.
Good luck and enjoy shooting.

You can use Canon 500D 52mm Close-Up Lens, as I do. It is perfect combination.

It's a great lens and so light that I take it with me when I go mountain biking mounted on my M50 and attached to a quick release buckle on the strap of my back-pack.

Really like your images. What style settings are you using on the M50?

Thanks. As I have never looked at style settings I am guessing "default". These are lightly post-processed in Photoshop using a "wedding" Action that I have developed and fine-tuned through the years but it's not too evasive - these are all close to the originals..
