Fujifilm 16-55mm Lens Mount Issue No Longer Connects to Camera

This might seem either a simple or crazy question, but I was wondering if anyone has had a problem where the lens can be connected to the camera one day, but won't connect the next. All the screws have been checked and are tight and OK, it has never been dropped or treated roughly and I have tried the lens on 3 different bodies - XH1, XE3, XPRO1 and XT1.

The lens can be placed into the mount but win't turn. It's almost like the lens has warped or there is a ridge stopping it turning to engage. I did notice that from new this lens was very tight in the mount, but it just stopped connecting.

i was thinking about filing the leading edge in case of a tiny burr, but I thought I would see if anyone here has had a similar experience.

I don't fancy sending it back to Fuji (I live in the UAE and there is only a distributor who is not the greatest)

Any similar experiences and your eventual solutions would be much appreciated

My first thought, to verify whether you ARE crazy or not [g], involves close scrutiny of the lens locking pin on the body (could it be catching a screw?). There are 7 screws to tighten at the back of the lens, but only one on the mount itself, I think, could interact with the pin. Try mounting with the lens release pressed.

The next thought is to request photos of the lens' mount from various angles, as well as the mount on the camera, to help assess what you're encountering.   In lieu of that, you might closely scrutinize that lens' mount to compare with another that mounts with no issue.

As Bob says "Try mounting with the lens release pressed."  I've had occasional problems with a lens and this worked with seemingly no problems.
