Looking for a cheap wide angle for my D600

Hey there. Much like the title suggests, I am seeking a cheap (~$300 USD or less) wide angle for my recently acquired D600. When I say wide, I mean like ~18mm but I don't have a preference here; the widest lens I own is my 50mm 1.8 lol. So it can be more narrow. ~24 is probably enough for my purposes. I have wide angle lens on my M43 kit, but I'd like to be able to use the stronger sensor and higher resolution to practice landscapes. Greatly prefer the lens be fitted for the FX circle. Open to manual focus only lenses also given the intended use of the lens. There's so many lenses out there, and I am not sure where to begin. Thanks for any insight you might have!

For under $300 US i think you'd find a used 18-35mm G for this....

way better than the D and a brilliant lens for the price....

I bought a Nikon 24f2.8 AF-D for about $120. Many are for sale, ususally a bit more than that but if you're not in a hurry you can get a good deal on one. Great lens,

Re: Looking for a cheap wide angle for my D600

I suggest you take a good look on the wide zoom of the "original" trinity, the AF 20-35 f/2.8. The other members were AF 35-70 f/2.8 and AF 80-200 f/2.8.

It is a constant f/2.8 zoom when wide apertures are needed and pretty sharp when stopped down a bit. It has a solid full metal construction.

The weak part is the mechanical AF/MF switch collar. It may get stiff if gunk gets under it and applying too much force when turning the ring will break it. Make sure the ring moves smoothly without too much resistance, and you're golden.

There seems to be a few in ebay priced in the 200-300 range.

better, most certainly, under 300, most certainly not or I'd have one myself

I did however forget about the 20-35 2.8 AFD which I had 15 years ago and I think I'd still have had I peered into the future and foreseen how much my 17-35 would cost me over the years (600 in repairs and counting)
