Inexpensive camera for live streaming?

I am building a live streaming rig. I only need HD, not 4K. I was looking at the Lumix G7 and several others. There is a great deal on the Olympus OM-D M1 mkII but I couldn’t find reviews by anyone actually using it for video. Everyone says the Sony a series cams overheat. I might be shooting some 3 hour shows.

I like the image stabilization on the Olympus and the lumix GX85. It’s bizarre that neither of those has an audio in

can all of these cameras be powered by a/c rather than batteries? Are the Sony’s the only cameras with serious overheating? Do they all output clean hdmi? What else should I be asking?

thanks!

Re: Inexpensive camera for live streaming?

I would 100% get a Panasonic GH3.

$350 gets you AWESOME 1080 out of it, there are LUTS and cages and tons of other stuff available for it, and they don't have the recording limit/overheating problems other cameras would.

Truly IMO an easy decision to get that plus either the 15mm f/1.7 or 12mm f/2  if you're going to rig it up behind your computer monitor.

You can do the GH3+lens+capture card for your computer for LESS than the cost of an E-M1mk2 used, by itself, and have no recording limit, and better 1080 capture on top of that.

I gave details about how to use the Oly EM1 MkII here:

https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4477789

The Oly EM1 and EM5 have audio in. The EM10 haven't.
