I really enjoy shooting objects at night, on my list to do more things of.

Older picture, hand shot with my XF XC 55-230 if I remember correctly, cropped.

Same moon but with some birds...  I can't remember if I had a tripod for this one or not, hindsight would have done two shots and stacked.

Okay, I'll Bite on this one with a NON-FUJI Camera...HERESY!

As most of you know I own a few systems but shoot mostly Fuji the past few years.  But I bought a 5DSR many "moons" ago just because it was a high MP cam and I own some nice Canon glass so here is one of many taken that night.....not the best because the best ones are some of my best sellers.

Fry me if you will for posting this but the moon has a special rise time and position in the fall.  And I have to madly drive around neighborhoods with cam on tripod to find good spots.  The looks on resident's faces are better these days since they know me.

LOOK AT THIS ENLARGED ON A LARGE MONITOR.

Excellent shot, Bob.

Watch out Jerry will fry you. If he doesn't I will be VERY disappointed, especially after the massive lecturing he has slathered on me.

WOW!  That's how you put a foreground on a moon shot!

These are both wonderful!  So much beyond a plain picture of the moon!

"Massive lecturing." "Slathered." Can you feel the sympathy... C'mon.

Bob and I usually only "fry" each other via PM. We have to try to appear that we're on the same page.

But seriously... did I just accidentally beam into the "Exaggeration Forum." I didn't even realize that DPR had one.

Oh yeah... BTW, great shot, Bob.

MW pano from a couple of years ago
11

Well, I'll mix it up a bit here and post something taken with a Fuji camera (LOL) a couple of years ago in Sunriver (Central Oregon). It's a full pano of the Milky Way stitched together.

Nice thread, folks... enjoying all the pics (regardless who makes the camera).

You can see the Andromeda Galaxy in the lower left portion of the stitched image.

No fancy overlays or Photoshop wizardry. That's how it looked creeping up behind the mountain.  One of these days I'll post the moon directly behind the cross.  That's the big seller.
