Konica D5

HI after some advise

I'm looking at getting back into photography I have an old Konica Minolta 5D, It has a AF Dt 18-70 F3.5-5.6 lens. My sister has a EOS 200D kit and both cameras look fairly close as long as I don't crop or zoom. My photos will mostly be on screen not print but before I head out and go get a Canon 6D with lense for $3000 I want to see how I go with the konica but want to get a couple of lenses as I like wildlife and landscape photography. Should I bit the bullet and wait to save the money for the canon or See what lenses I can get second hand for the konica.

If I do get lenses how would I find them and what lens type should I look out for.

You can get good wildlife and landscape photos either way, but do be aware that the 5D is a 6MP camera while the Canon is a 20MP camera. That's a pretty big difference.

Look for them on eBay or other websites that offer used lenses for sale.

and what lens type should I look out for.

For your wildlife shooting you can consider the Sony 55-300mm DT f/4.5-5.6. For landscape shooting try the Sony 16-50mm DT f/2.8. Both provide good image quality and are very affordable.

You've already got the camera , see how you get on .

The 55-300 would be best , but for even less you could get a Minolta or Sony 75-300mm lens .

As also mentioned the difference between 6mp and 20mp is very high .

I still have my Minolta Dynax 7d which also has the 6mp sensor , I enjoy using it from time to time , but it would be seriously restrictive to have my main camera that's only 6mp.

A-mount lenses are very affordable nowadays. I would also recommend to get a second hand Sony DT 55-300 F4-5.6 SAM. Combined with your current 18-70 you got most things covered.

A really great lens for A-mount APS-C is the Sony DT 35mm F1.8 SAM. Build is plastic fantastic, but optically it delivers super quality.

Re: Konica D5

6MP vs 20MP is only 80% more resolution, not even double.

You can do some stitching, though, if you want more resolution, or a wider view.
