Blue bar bottom of image. Canon SL2

Hello. This bar started to appear on my images last week. Was actually half the size shown here, so it's growing. I searched high and low and can't find anything similar out there

Canon SL2. Doesn't matter if I change lens, inside or outside. Auto or various settings.  It's high shutter count and past warranty so won't be sending it in but would like to know what it is. I've had 10 canons and a million shots and this is a first. Even updated firmware. Thanks!

Canon EOS Rebel SL2 (EOS 200D / Kiss X9)

Try a new memory card, if that doesn't work then it is probably the sensor or main board at fault.

Sadly it isn't the card

It doesn't look like normal JPG corruption.  It looks like all the red is missing which could be a failed sensor.

That's a good observation. And I suspect exactly right.

I've had a very similar issue, but with a very high shutter count Nikon body. The problem was actually a memory card slot writing issue, that is the camera no longer wrote things correctly to the memory card. It resulted in a ton of money wasted on repairs (eventually dumped the camera). Since the camera you are having issues with is an SL2, I would just list it on eBay for parts or repair, and get another body. I think you got your money's worth out of it anyway. Good luck!

Interesting. Yes, it has no value worth any repair. Probably 300k shots easy so got my money's worth. Wonder if that's something worth cracking body open. Again, it has no value so no loss. Curious if it's something worth trying.

Nope, the part was very expensive if I recall and not able to be obtained. Complicated repair, not really user repairable. Just sell it on eBay and get whatever you can out of it.

After I changed the shutter kit myself, something similar appeared, but it changes the band size.

Some help?
