BIF tips for T3i?

Are there any credible sources of information on shooting birds with a T3i?

I never had much luck with BIF using a T3, but did luck out a couple of times.  With good light and reasonable distance you can get some keepers.  The biggest challenge is the limitation on cropping with the low megapixel sensor.

Re: BIF tips for T3i?

Occasionally I can take good pictures of BIFs with the Canon T3i (600D) camera.  But with that camera it takes lots of coordination and fast reflexes since I have it set for a single spot autofocus.  I don't take lots of BIFs.  I think it would be easier with the Canon T7i (800D) camera.

I've done it with my 12M T3. You need to be pretty close to your subject as cropping isn't great on my T3. Really good light as well so you can keep the shutter speed up and ISO as low as you dare. I always left mine on center point focus, but using all 9 may work too.

One you know the limitations with your body, patience, practice and technique can be adapted.
