M200 and Sigma 56 : manual focus ?

I just got a Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN as a portrait lens for my Canon EOS M200.

I did not yet have time to take "real" pictures, I just tested if everything works well. The AF has no problem, but when I set my M200 on manual focus, the focus ring seems to have no effect. Is it a known compatibility issue, or is my lens defective ? Since I bought it online, I have a couple of days to send it back.

Thanks in advance if anyone who has the same gears can tell me if it should work.

Maybe you will have to put the shutter button half way while turning the focus ring.  You could try if this works.

This was the case with the 24 stm and 50 stm on my 70D (never tried MF on my M50)
