ANOTHER HSS HELP

I am having a difficulty with the setup of settings in my camera (at least I think I am). I am having issues setting HSS on my T7i unless I have the trigger on the hot shoe. Am I doing something wrong or is it because i'm using a Godox speed light? the speed light is Canon compatible and it has HSS but it doesn't do anything over 1/200th. Is there anyone that can help me because I am going to need this in weddings/parties this coming spring. Thank you in advance

Re: ANOTHER HSS HELP

You have to put the flash on HSS mode. Otherwise, it won't let you go over the usual max sync speed.

The T7i can do HSS with an HSS-capable speedlite mounted in the hotshoe, or with an HSS-capable "Master" controller in the hotshoe to trigger remote HSS slaves.

If you are wanting the built-in flash of the T7i to control your off-camera speedlite, it can - but only at x-sync (1/200) and longer shutter speeds.  The built-in flash is not capable of HSS, and it cannot control HSS in a slaved remote speedlite(s).
