Needs an EVF though. Thousand-dollar camera without one seems like a non-starter now.

Cheers,

The Pen-F? It has an EVF.

It does. I was responding to a desire for an E-P5 successor. It has the optional plug-in EVF only.

Cheers,

Rick

Understood. The EP5 with the VF2 (I never upgraded to the VF3) is just lovely to use. I enjoy that the VF is articulated, great for holding the camera low and getting the shot.

Please Mr & Mrs Olympus give us an EP6 or F2

The VF2 was (and is) nice.  The VF3, for the record, was a downgrade - smaller but with a lower-res, smaller, over-contrasty image, albeit quite a nice-looking silver unit.  You're thinking of the VF4 - the 2.3 million dot evolution of the 1.44 million dot VF2 - even larger, higher-resolution image (basically it's the removable version of the E-M1 (and others) EVF) - and like the built-in finders, with the added convenience of an automatic sensor to switch between EVF and monitor (plus the ability manually switch as before, if preferred).  On the other hand, it cost more, was larger (and arguably uglier) and only came in black.
