Fujifilm AX-5 Help!

Hello everyone.

I just bought the Fujifilm AX-5 and despite some negative reviews it is an upgrade for me over my old Sony Cybershot which must be nearly 15 years old now yet still takes decent pictures, i just fancied upgrading to a better sensor.

i have not had much chance to play with the camera due to spending the last five hours trying to get the Fuji camera app to work on my phone, it connects then i cannot transfer images to it, it started sending then stopped and the camera shut down, i have uninstalled app several times, reinstalled, checked bluetooth and wifi, all ok, it seems the app is very buggy so i guess i will be transferring files to the laptop by card.

Since this camera is the same as the T100 except for the viewfinder, which i do not need, i was wondering if you all have any settings you use, i know i can just set it so the camera does everything but i do not like oversharpened images, so was thinking -1 for sharpness and +1 for colour.

There is so much control available, AF-S seems to be preferable to AF-C as i understand from reviews that tracking is poor with motion, i knew this when i bought it but the price at John Lewis for two lenses plus the camera is in my opinion a bargain, especially since i like architecture and landscape photography, some macro photography too, moving subjects is not something i will likely shoot much of and i do not need the video so i knew going in that was crippled, i also knew the camera shot great pictures and that is the main thing.

So i would welcome suggestions on what people think are the best settings and maybe a tip on getting their app working all the time and anything else folks could pass along.

I’d forget the app. Fuji has a hard time keeping up with app updates due to the high number of OS updates by the phone manufacturers. Trying to keep up means renewing phones regularly as well as constant firmware updates.

just get a card reader much easier.

I do not at all agree with your comment that Fuji has a " hard time keeping up with updates " ........

How can you claim something like this ?

Because I work in a camera shop and every time android or iOS updates are first created and installed do Fuji camera owners have issues using their cameras with the apps .
But so do must other camera manufacturers. It’s the constant battle between third parties and security updates.

Being working in a camera shop gives you only contact with a small number of people who may have problems using their cameras........

And who trained me on such issues.

Well you’ve got me mixed up with someone else then as I’ve never driven a bus and never told anyone I have .
Good to see your still stalking me and trying to stir up trouble.

Have a nice day .

Wishing you a nice day too, although I don't stalking you, and can't see just I agree with your comments, that I stir up trouble.......

Sorry, if I was mistaken that you worked once as bus driver, although nothing would have been wrong if you were.......

OK, let's stop this rather pointless discussion right now, please, and get the thread back on track.  The original recommendation to simply use a card reader is a solid one, IMHO.  It's a time honored method for transferring files from a camera to a computer and requires no special software.  If you have a different method you prefer... terrific.  Arguing over this is pointless as each photographer likely has his/her own way of doing things and there is no right or wrong here.

Please stop dragging this thread OT, and please let's not debate this point either.  Enough!

Re: Fujifilm AX-5 Help!

I was out shooting some stuff this morning, some sunshine, big problem, well two problems, first is i didn't take my reading glasses, the real big problem is seeing things on the LCD screen, i was wondering, i know there is an LCD hood for Panasonic cameras to help with sunshine but those screens come out, does anyone have any ideas on how i can get around this issue, any tips for shooting in sunshine and using LCD screens?
