35mm Stereo Dual Projection DIY

Hi all -

I’m hoping to put together a passive 3D setup using two Kodak Carousels with linear polarization and silver screen. I’m concerned about alignment. All the information I’ve been able to find about projector alignment for stereo has to do with digital equipment, which doesn’t help me much since slide projectors don’t have the image shift/keystone capabilities of their digital counterparts.

I’m wondering if anyone has experience with this and can provide advice on lining up two analog projectors. Thank you to anyone who’s reading.

- Jack

I'd recommend joining the following groups.io mailing list...

https://photo-3d.groups.io/g/main

...and post your question there.  There are a number of active folks on that list that have extensive experience projecting 35MM 3D slides using dual projectors.  (I use a Brackett 3D projector that takes Realist slides, so that works differently.)

BTW -- the Photo-3D and related lists have recently been moved off of Yahoo Groups to this new Groups.io hosting which is a *much* nicer experience.   And you can either use a web interface, or do everything via email, or a combination of the two.

Re: 35mm Stereo Dual Projection DIY

You will not have any problem with alignment, especially if the screen is situated at long distance (more than ~4 meters from projectors, situated one in top of the other).
