The front dial on my M5 is hard to rotate, is there a way to fix this?

We haven't heard anybody report this on the M6... anyone?

I've been lucky enough to have no front dial issues with the M, M2, M6 or M6ii. Maybe just an M5 issue.

I have the same issue with the M6

Re: The front dial on my M5 is hard to rotate, is there a way to fix this?

Had this issue on my M5. Adding a couple drops of teflon lube and spinning the dial a lot to work out the stiffness helped getting it moving again, but it never got it as smooth as it was when new. And the beveled profile and light surface texture makes it hard to turn this dial when it's not 100% smooth. Eventually the dial cover fell off -- not sure if this had to do with the lubricant I used -- so I 3D printed a replacement that offered a little more traction and extended slightly past the front of the body. This gives just a little more leverage when spinning the dial because I can apply the force from the outer radius rather than combining it with downward force along the top bevel.

You can see how dirty this camera is after carrying it on every mountain bike ride I went on for 5 years. Really loved the compactness of this camera and image quality of the lenses.

Had the same problem on a recent M6ii I bought off eBay. The front dial turned but was erratic. I returned it straight away.

Looks like this is a design weakness on the M5 and M6.
