Re: M6 mark II shutter shock: Couple Questions
1

1:  So I've set my Av, One Shot mode to electronic shutter.  I don't wave the camera around shooting vertical towers in that mode.  Any other down sides?

2:  I've read that the EF-M IS lenses use a spring for the IS mechanism to work against and its the spring that causes the movement from the shutter action.  So do all IS lenses use this mechanism?  EF-S, EF, EF L?

I mostly use EF-S and EF IS lenses on my M6II.  I have the 11-22 and 28 Macro and haven't seen any issues but I'd like to know what I'm dealing with here.

Almost always use IS lenses in that range of shutter speeds. Therefore, it is a problem that shouldn't exist. Would be interesting to see how adapted efs lenses fair. No complaints about the M5 for my needs.

Same here , its the most popular shutter speed range in the UK general dull weather . all it would take would be a firmware update to either add EFCS or at the very very least have an option to switch to E-Shutter at those speeds like the Panasonic GX8 does - better still to switch to EFCS at those shutter speeds if the mech shutter is needed to circiumvent weird bokeh issues ..

This is a very expensive camera and no , the problem shouldn't exist as it doesn't on the M6-II`s DSLR twin, the 90D or any other Canon Mirrorless camera from the original M to the R5

Thought I’d resurrect this thread.  I’ve noticed what seemed like horrible softness/missed focus, or even motion blur at shutter speeds that shouldn’t produce this.  Only with the zooms (15-45 and 18-150).  The primes are always exquisitely sharp. Just wondering if    anyone has any simple workarounds to suggest.

Canon must fix this issue with FW. I don’t understand what they are doing.

Post a few shots for us when you can (with EXIF intact).
