I'm a really big admirer of Minolta Cameras.  My collection in model chronology runs SRT-201, X-370, XD-11. 7xi, 9xi and now I've acquired the Dynax 9.  All of them are excellent cameras; the manual focus ones for stills and the Maxuum series when I'm out shooting things more mobile. The camera itself is a tank in build, and it's heavy; which bothers me not the least.  What is especially great about it is the ergonomics.  Virtually every control you need to shoot quickly is on the body of the camera.  The 21 custom functions(which don't need a card) allowed me to really refine the camera to my shooting style.  I took it out and put a roll of Kodak Gold200 thru it last week, and here's a sampling.....used a Sigma DL 70-300mm as the lens in this case. I've 6 others that cover the spectrum from 24-300. Only one of these is edited(it was snowing hard).Shot in P mode:

Congrats on the Dynax 9. I have never had/used one but I have heard from many how good a camera it is. Keep the film going! Kodak Gold 200 has always been a nice all-around use film to me and capable of some great shots.

I'm a big fan of the Maxxum 7 and 9. I don't shoot enough to justify the expense though, because my preference is to purchase like new/mint condition cameras.

Great pictures. I sold my Dynax 9 around 12 years ago and have really regretted it ever since. I have just bought another sample in mint condition plus a 28-70G so I’m back in business 😉.

Mine died years ago after a bad fall in the mountains.
But my 7D still works.

It's just some glass, some silicon and magnesium. It isn't a religion.

The 28-70G is a perfect choice for the 9, they balance very well.

My 9 as the SSM upgrade and also works with the newer A-mount lenses, but I still prefer the colour I get from the Minolta lenses on film.

Beautiful pictures. I sold and re-bought a Dynax 9 which is the most intuitive camera I have ever had and I simply love to use it with the 28-70G although the AF speed is nothing to brag about.
