Is Lightroom the single solution for Windows USB K1 tethering ?

Apologies, I'm not a Pentaxorian, but a good friend has a K1 II and is convinced that only Lightroom/w-plugin can provide any semblance of USB tethering into a Windows laptop. I did some sleuthing, and it looks like PKTether is gone and there isn't much else except for tablets. He wants to capture portaits, and use the tethering to confirm lighting and focus.

Any recommendations would be welcome.

Check out https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/6-pentax-dslr-discussion/378428-introducing-pentax-wi-fi-usb-tether-pentaxforums-com.html ... I don't have a K1, so I've only tried it with my K-70, but it might do what you want, or you can find PK_Tether on the Internet Archive at https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.pktether.com/

I have ON1 2020 and it looks like it would work - but I have no experience with it. But you can dwonload a trial version to give it a try.

Best regards

I think you can tether through Darktable on Windows, though I've not tried it.
