Will the AF on either of these lenses work on a T6i?

Will the AF on either of these lenses work on a T6i?

I was having trouble deciding between the Tamron 100-400mm f/ 4.5-6.3 and the Sigma f/ 5-6.3, but someone had mentioned that the AF wouldn’t work past 180mm as they only go up to a maximum aperture of f/5.6 before the AF completely stops working or hunting a lot. Not saying this person is wrong as I’m new to photography myself, but I feel like this would be more widely known, and mentioned in reviews too.

Should I skip on these lenses or would AF still work?

Thanks!

Re: Will the AF on either of these lenses work on a T6i?

I've never heard of the autofocus not working past the 180mm focal length, unless there's a defect. I'm using a Tamron 150-600mm lens with a Canon T3i (600D) camera. The autofocus works fine up to the maximum focal length of 600mm. Rocket13 on the Show Your Snaps thread uses the Tamron 100-400mm lens a lot. You could ask him.  The maximum aperture can change depending on the focal length, but that shouldn't affect your ability to use the lens.

Whoever mentioned that had no idea what he was talking about. Either lens will focus out to the maximum length.
