Very good Lens

This lens is in very good quality, fast autofucus, sharp, crisp colors and good contrast, highly recommened. I do not have this lens any more because I now have the Sony 135mm 1.8 GM which is better in any way what so ever !

Re: Very good Lens

The compliment is ment for those looking for a good second hand lens and I think that the Canon 135mm 2.0 L will be a very good choice.

He means the Canon EF 135mm f/2 is a great even when used and second hand.  And, with his Sony lens experience, doesn't think anyone should buy a second hand Sony 135mm.  Is he trying to get the word out, for Sony, that Sony makes a 135mm?

"Tell me truthfully what Canon owners think of Sony lenses," the Sony forum asked.

"We don't," was the reply.

He's already done so. And in the proper forum:

Well, the Sony 135mm GM will not mount on any of my three camera systems, so, it is not “best” at everything.

The Sony 135mm GM was not available when I wanted a fast 135mm lens, in 2011, so, I settled for a “very good” Canon EF 135L. Had I waited for this “best” Sony 135mm GM, I would have missed some very important candid shots that are now highly-valued family treasures.

The first digital camera I bought was a Sony DSC-H20, a bridge camera, in 2009, before I felt a need for an SLR, so I actually started with a favorable impression of Sony. I soon realized that I wanted a serious DSLR, and by mid-2010 I had a need for serious macro/close-range equipment. Sony was was not ready to meet my needs, so Canon became my first interchangeable-lens camera system, and Canon still has the superior macro equipment, overall. It really is that simple. I am not anti-Sony.

By accident of availability, I learned to use Canon and Nikon DSLRs at the same time. I love specific lenses made by both Canon and Nikon, too much to quit either system. Dabbling with Leica-M is fun, too. I am, certainly, not an expert.

Re: How did it get worse over the last month?

You are right, I should have given it 4.5 at first. But I did correct it But when it first came for many years ago in April 1996 it was second to none and at that time it would have made 5 stars.
