Anyone use Ikelite w/Nikon D500?

I'm considering taking the plunge and getting an UW housing for the D500 and wondering if anyone has any experience with Ikelite's products. They are a name I've seen for many years, and the price compared to others is certainly competitive. Info regarding reliability and ease of use would be appreciated.

Hi Ken

I have been using Ikelite housings for around 8 years now.

They are much cheaper than Nauticam/subal/seacam but still very reliable and functional. Out of the box the ergonomics are not good but they are easily customizable

The reason I like Ikelite is I can replace all orings myself (full service) without sending it to the dealer and the dealer will sell me pretty much what ever I ask for in regards to the housing. jean from Ikelite always replies to emails and trys to always offer a good solution.

To make my housing really shine I added a Nauticam 45 degree viewfinder, vacuum valve, XIT 404 control knobs, aquatica surveyor and a ULCS TR-SLBD tray.

Check out David Fleetham, Ken Keifer and Grant Thomas, they all use Ikelite gear.

Thanks for your reply Chris.  I'll check out the add-ons you mentioned.  I've found the Ikelite people to be be very responsive and helpful as well.  As I just got certified for SCUBA I probably won't be doing much/ANY photography until I get my buoyancy down pat, which hopefully won't take too long.  But as photography is a big part of why i got certified i want to get a pretty good idea on uw gear now.  Thanks again
