Which cheap kit lens would you get for NX?

Not a huge difference in price on these, so just thinking about size, range and IQ, I suppose.

I can vouch for my copy of the pz 16-50mm. Very sharp, good autofocus and OIS.

Also, the zoom lens is great for video and you can even operate it remotely from an app.

I did own the 18-55mm but it's bulkier.

My least favourite is the 20-50mm, no OIS and the worst IQ imo.

I have all three of the lenses.

What I liked about the 16-50PZ was the size, the start at 16mm and the image quality. What I don't like is the Powerzoom without a zoom switch on the camera and that it's not as sturdy as the other two lenses. My copy is nowadays massively decentered without any fall or other accident. Carrying it around on the bicycle or in the car in a padded bag obviously wasn't to its liking. But if you want to do a lot of video, get the PZ. I personally won't buy a replacement.

The 18-55 seems to take a lot more abuse than the 16-50 and the image quality is good. The OIS is not as good as in the PZ, but still good enough for my purposes. I still like a manual zoom better than a powerzoom, but I do mostly stills, so the 18-55 is my preferred choice. I have two of them, the Mk1 I got the with the NX10, the Mk3 with the NX20.

With the 20-50 I never liked the range, the missing OIS and that I have to unlock the lens before use. But the image quality is good and if you use a raw converter that ignores the lens profile, you'll get a little bit more wideangle. I keep it as a last resort short zoom for the time my two 18-55 will have failed.

Overall, the use of my NXes has declined very much. This year, the most used NX was the NX2000 with the 12-24 and 30mm as addition to the RX10 III during the holidays...

I`ve had all of the kit lenses and given a choice I`d take the 16-50 kit lens especially for the wider end and compactness.

Right now I`m using the 18-55lll and am really quite satisfied with it.  I recently snagged what appears to be a perfectly new NX300 with this lens plus the flash for $205.00 US
