Is iPhone 11's Deep Fusion similar to Pentax's Pixel Shift technology?

Because both produce images as if they were taken with a sensor with a natively more effective megapixels?

I just did a quick google of the Deep Fusion. Looks like it does a lot more than PS.

While the objectives are similar, the methods are different. Instead of physically shifting the sensor (as the iPhone's is fixed in place), I suspect deep fusion is more like image stacking, like in the links below.
