Quick set menu on dp1s
1

The dP1s addendum to the dp 1 manual says the following:

How to use the Qs (Quick Set Menu) When the camera is in the Still Image Mode, the Quick Set Menu will be displayed by pressing the ( w-t) button. (By pressing the button again, it is possible to switch to Qs1 or Qs2.) Select the desired Menu by pressing the 4-way controller and change the setting.

What is meant by "still image mode"?  Is it something different from just not being in "movie mode"?  I've been thrugh the manual and don't see it used other than as a general term.  However when I'm in any of the still image modes I can push the w-t button till the cows come home and nothing happens?  Does this work on anyone's dp1s camera?  Apparently, this is where it was first introduced.

If you have one that works as described a set of instructions would be highly appreciated.

thanks,

Mike

Re: Quick set menu on dp1s

The mode dial wheel on top of your camera determines the main modes of operation.

So "still image mode" refers to the  M, P, A, S modes, as opposed to Movie mode or Voice record mode, or the Set Up mode.

I owned a DP1s but don't remember how to use the Qs.

Have you allocated those buttons to do something else while in PASM? Or does the default for those buttons exclude the Qs?

Observe that the Qs icon above is grayed out ...

Do you need the latest firmware to get the Qs function ... like you needed the latest on the SD14 to get 50 ISO?

Sorry I can't be more precise ...

Thanks Ted.  It was set to off.  Once it was set to qs everything works as expected.

Your pedantry dominates once again.
