Anyone know what is new in Capture One Pro 20?

After multiple searches, I have only found Phase One's advertisements to Pre-Order for this upgrade.  No where is there info nor what is new and "improved".  Not even on Capture One Pro's site.  They only list it as a new version coming in November.  But without any information about this new version, why pay in advance???

When I understand the offer right, you buy a Capture One 12 (if you don‘t own it) and will receive a free upgrade to Capture One 20.

Personally I have already a license for Capture One 12 and will decide, whether to upgrade or not, when the new version will be released. This decision will finally depend on the additional functions.

Best regards
Michael

Sign up for their beta program. The link is right there on their web site. You can test version 20 free of charge so can answer your own questions.

Kind of gave up on this question many weeks ago.  Thought I would check back today.

I too thought that the advertising for Capture One Pro 20 was misleading at best.  Deceitful, more likely.  Kind of soured my view of Phase One after all these years.

After reading the responses here, I might have been premature in my disgust with the folks at Phase One.

Thanks AZBlue, I must have missed the "Beta"  testing link.  I will revisit the site.

Wrong!  The "free trial" is for Capture One Pro Sony 12.  Already own and use it.  So there really isn't a "beta" testing version.

Log into your account and go to your account page. It should be there, unless they don’t allow users of the Sony or Fuji versions to try out the Beta (possible, I don’t know as I have the full version).

I am beta testing Capture One 20 full version on my Mac using a Nikon D850. I don't think you clicked on the right link. The one I'm talking about is in my account page. If you aren't currently a Capture One user with an account page, you can try this:

Thanks SatoriGFX!!!

It took a bit of digging around after doing an on-site search for the Beta testing program, I finally found the link.

Now the fun begins!

Thanks again SatoriGFX

Re: Anyone know what is new in Capture One Pro 20?

After several days of using the Beta version, I downloaded the "Full" version today. I am impressed enough with the changes, to create a catalog of my personal work. I have been using Capture One version 12.

I have only been using LR for my personal stuff. But after testing and familiarizing myself with C1 Pro Sony's interface, I have begun the painful process of Importing one of my Image databases. I has been running for 45 minutes and says it will take another 4 hours and 47 minutes to complete. After that, I have two more. This gonna take awhile.

Back to the software. I tested and compared LR conversions with C1 Pro Sony and found it difficult to achieve the same results. This isn't to say that C1 was not as good. Only different. I was/am impressed with the high ISO noise reduction. I did find that after the noise reduction, the files were a little more susceptible to banding around high contrast transitions. I will have to look at this further. It might be operator error. Still learning the limits of this new interface.

I do like the more powerful use of "levels". Also noticed that there was more control over tonal values. I like the "color adjustment" system much better than LR. I don't like the limited "healing" interface. It is no where near as efficient as LR. Overall the file exports look smoother yet sharper.

Lots more testing needed.

Update, screwed up the Import.  Need to work on this.
