I think the frog thought if he didn't move I couldn't see him?

I have one with the same issue in my home. It gave up moving one hour after the one in your image. On the other hand: if time's not moving anymore we don't grow older either

Just ask The Mad Tea Party how well that works.

Not even the light rainfall could spoil this day for me. Some attempts to catch these radiant, heart warming colors from yesterday:

Such beauty makes me forget the missing sunshine

The forests on the mountain in the background also turns partly to yellow and later orange while the firs remain green and the larchs eventually will loose their needles.

From green to yellow and red... I love this time of the year!

Looking towards the bottom of the valley. Golden spots embedded in the green everywhere.

For me nothing can rival the beauty of nature. And within a few weeks the snow will enchant our landscapes. So there's always a reason to look forward to the next beautiful change...

I love this time of year for the autumn colours.   Very nice photographs Reto.

That's kind of sad!

Well at least it is right twice a day which is more than can be said for my Rolex.

Those are great photos. That lens must be good for the leaves, they came out very sharp even at 1/100 of a second.

Bike saddle as tripod replacement

Wide angle makes the bike a bit too apparent, though.  Other shots were much less conspicuous.

On the way home from the grocery stores. I didn't actually expect the long exposure to make that kind of inferno out of the cooling tower vapour.

By the way, Bill: "***10/20/2019-10/20/2019 Sunday Weekly Show, Tell, and Critique***" seems like a rather short date span: is it really intended to be just this Sunday?

Why don't you just turn the bike some to the left?

Thanks for putting out the correction.

Why don't you just turn the bike some to the left?

For one thing, I didn't notice it (framing in the dark is not really great on the DSC-R1).  For another, this is a comparatively narrow path and I was queasy about putting my bike's full broadside across it with the camera on in case somebody happened to come that way (I likely could have just moved the bike aside in time and restarted after waiting for the exposure and dark exposure to finish).

So basically a case of messing up, better luck next time.

Signs of the season.

Not necessarily this "Weekly . . . ," but, last year's photo.  Last two weeks mini-challenge came and went.  I was reviewing my archive, and saw that one stone could extinguish two birds.

Sign of aging.

While in the archive, I fell in love with my hawk again, and prepped it for the 2019 contest. Then, I checked the exif. Missed it by that much. So, I'm presenting it to you folks.

It's cropped and resized only.

"Off; in the distance."

It's my sharpest bird picture yet.

And, here's the original, resized. The lens is set at 400mm. It's in a cottonwood included in a series of cottonwoods (populus wislizeni) that form an avenue which greets me on the way to town.  These tree are now in orange/yellow stage of Autumn.  More later on that.

Since I'm not all that acquainted with hawks, I venture to say that it's a red tailed hawk, or, "gavilán pollero."

Of course C&C is welcome.

David

Thank you for your appreciation, Michael. Yes, that lens is outstanding in every respect. The 24 GM and the 135 GM are by far my favourites. I sacrificed two zoom lenses to get these two fast primes. Sony is making very good optics as can also be seen in the RX camera series.

Thanks again and best wishes
