RAW plus jpeg files on XT2 (in camera solution/hack)

I have been trying to figure out a way to save both Raw and jpg files for each image shot on my XT2. I think I have found out how to do it.

  1. Set your save as card configuration to save Raw and jpeg on separate cards
  2. Use the Film Simulation bracketing to the configuration you want
  3. Shoot. The result will be to write three raw files to the Raw SD card and the three jpeg film simulations to the jpeg card.

I am shocked and happy that this works. The only downside I see is the saving of three RAW files, two of which I don't need. However, this "hack" is a good bug if Fuji did not intend the camera to be used this way. I am going to try this with my GFX which is really where I would like to use it.

Note: it does take a long time to create the files, so if you are in a fast shooting situation, this solution may not work for you.

My X-H1 does this. I think the X-T2 does also. I believe it is in setup.

My reading comprehension has suffered a bit with age, so I'm not sure why you need a special work-around or "hack" to do what you describe.

On my T-2, I have it set in the menus to record a RAW on card 1, and a JPEG on card 2. Isn't that what you want to do, or have I misunderstood your post?

Agreed. Clarification from the OP would be nice. I listened to the fujilove podcast with the Fuji guy (forgot his name) and it is impossible to bracket for film sim and NOT have a corresponding RAF file saved as well. 3 film sims = 3 RAFs.

I too have my T2 set up to record RAF and Video in the first slot and jpgs in the second slot.

It is because I could not find the specific instructions for doing both raw and jpeg combined with FS bracketing posted this. Excuse my ignorance.

Why bother with FS bracketing if you want an OOC jpeg? Shoot raw+jpeg with one FS  and then when you decide on the keepers, FS don't decide the keepers, use the cameras built in raw editor to generate as many OOC jpegs with any FS you want.

Because I would like to use the OOC jpegs for both reference and/or immediate use. I spend enough time in front of the computer already. One aspect of making me go Fuji was the promise of spending more time behind the camera instead of the computer. Hence the desire for a couple of good color and one BW output from the camera. My Leica always produces a good BW image in jpeg format, which saves a lot of time. This feature in Fuji lets me have the best of both worlds.
