Sumatra? I had not seen any updates since 2016. The forum states it is now inactive.

https://github.com/sumatrapdfreader/sumatrapdf/issues/1006

Has the pdf spec changed?  Or do you prefer updates for changes sake?

Sumatra has opened every pdf I've thrown at it though I agree others mentioned in this thread are more feature rich.

I gave up on Adobe years ago when it became bloatware on my ageing machine.  I must have encountered an issue with Foxit causing me to seek out an alternative.

I used to use Sumatra although now I just use Chrome or Firefox. They work fine as PDF readers. I stopped using Acrobat some time ago. Stopped using Foxit but I cannot remember why now.

I have poor success when wanting to print a PDF from my browser (Firefox) with stupid font sizes, page breaks etc.   Foxit seems ok but have sometimes resorted to copy/paste into Word!!

PDF v2.0 latest release

Will a reader like Sumatra PDF (development is frozen) read the latest versions? I hardly print now and I do OK with Chrome as a reader.

Well I find getting around GitHub a pain but I I have taken an example:

https://github.com/pdf-association/pdf20examples/blob/master/PDF%202.0%20with%20page%20level%20output%20intent.pdf

Saved it, opened with Sumatra and taken a screenshot:

No idea how representative this is and how many have moved on from PDF1.4 which seems to be the staple diet.

I've recently switched to Sumatra as well, and I'm quite pleased with it.  The preview in Windows Explorer works which is a huge plus for me.
