About as sharp a lens as Fuji makes - especially with IBIS.

Re: Sharp, sharp, sharp

That’s been highly consistent with the 90. And, I almost pulled the trigger on getting one...for the FL and that reason. I still think I need the 50-140, of which there is a 90 FL within! But, it would be interesting to see a comparison of both lenses at 90 - for me. Maybe I will revisit the lenstip.com site and compare the resolution charts.

Re: Sharp, sharp, sharp

Lewiedude2,

I have both. The 90 is a tad sharper, especially wide open. Not to knock the 50-140! It is awesome - and a bit heavy! Tested both on my ISO 22331 charts.

Re: Sharp, sharp, sharp

The 80mm macro might be tad sharper in the center, but at 50% more weight and $250 usa more dollars ($1200), I opted for a like-new 90 for $470. I saved over $730 . . .  but you do need IBIS with the X-H1 (which I had already). Not knocking the macro! I just didn't like the weight.

Re: Sharp, sharp, sharp

Yes, Yes, Yes! It is now my favorite Fujifilm lens out of all the ones I've owned and if I may paste what SLRgear.com said about this lens:

"After around eight years of reviewing lenses for SLRgear.com, there aren't many cases where one's jaw drops when looking at a blur chart. This was one of them.

There actually isn't much to report on in this category of the review: the lens is spectacularly tack-sharp, at all apertures, even wide open at ƒ/2. Diffraction limiting sets in at ƒ/11, where it still remains tack-sharp; only at ƒ/16 do we note a hint of image degradation due to diffraction.

In short, it doesn't get much sharper than this."
