Fuji X100T sudden overheating warning
1

I’m suddenly getting a “this camera has reached a maximum internal temperature” warning the minute I start the camera. I can’t shoot or even review photos. The camera shuts off shortly after. It was working fine until now. The batteries are normal Fuji batteries. I have 2 and this is happening with both batteries.

Can anyone tell me what’s going on? It’s a pretty new camera with very little use. I used it without trouble at a birthday party last month.

Is there a setting I might have turned on by mistake that’s causing this? I borrowed the camera from a friend to try it out and see about maybe buying it. When I got it, this wasn’t happening. But other than this birthday shoot a month ago, I haven’t used it. I wanted to have another go at it but this has prevented me from using it. A real mystery.

I hope someone out there can help me figure this out. I would be most grateful for input on this. Thanks in advance!

I think the most likely thing is that it is defective and will need to go to Fuji.

Oops, it’s the X100F, not X100T!

Re: Fuji X100T sudden overheating warning

I'm experiencing the exact problem with my X-H1. 10 seconds after switching it on it raises the overheat warning and shuts down.

However, if you are previewing images it works just fine or if you are in the setup menu the error never shows up and the camera stays on. But as soon as you exit the menu or stop previewing images, the overheat warning comes back and it shuts down. It's really weird.

How did you solve this?

Please let us know how it worked out and how much Fuji charged.  Thanks!

The diagnosis from Fujifilm was that the main PWB assembly needs to be replaced.

In other words the board was damaged and needed to be replaced. I'm not sure if they're replacing the entire board or components of it.

It cost me $320.
