First attempt at profiling the 70-210 beercan for Lightroom
2

Well, that took some time, trials and errors and a few batteries to shoot the Adobe calibration charts in a way that worked in the app.
I tried many parameters in the lens profile creator and eventually got a working profile.
I'm honestly not all that super happy with it: geometry correction seems to be quite OK, but vignetting is a bit violent, and the chromatic aberration does almost nothing.
If anyone wants to try it and give some feedback: here is the file 70-210-beercan.lcp

just put it in the camera raw lens profile folder: should be in / Users / [your username] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / CameraRaw / LensProfiles /

I have the Beercan Lite and the Big Beercan but I'm still looking for a decent Beercan.

Good luck with the profile. I have tried on other cameras/lenses and only get things worse!:-(

I really love my 70-210. Very sharp, LR and DXo take care of the AC.
The only issue has been a small back focus issue at short distances before I fixed the AF on the 7D. It behaves very well on Sony bodies.
Anyway, that profile thing is not really straightforward. I'll have to print the Adobe charts on better paper. my prints were not contrasted enough. And retry the process. At least now i know how to shoot these sharts.
