EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM one year later

A calendar entry this morning reminded me that I had purchased my EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM for my M5 one year ago. Some here may remember that two days later when I received the lens, that I posted my very first image on this forum that I photographed with it:

My very first image one year ago with the beautiful boquet of f/1.4 of the EF-M 32mm lens on the M5.

So I decided to take the lens out to my gardens today and give it a birthday celebration:

At f/1.8, this Clematis shows beautiful definition ahead of a smooth transition into the background.

These Honeysuckle Berries at f/3.5 in a partial crop again show the dimension and depth of the lens without post processing.

At f/5.6, probably the lens' optimum aperture, imagery is razor sharp in this non post processed (except for a compositional crop) image of a Black Swallowtail.

I believe I knew on Day One that this lens was a keeper, and today that is absolutely still true.

Now the M6 II without an EVF is not my cup of tea and I will not be acquiring one, but I understand the excitement getting one provides to those who like the form factor. My advice to those who do is to pair its 32mp sensor with an EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM and find out what the lens can really do. It will take a little practice at first to fine tune your technique with all those pixels, but I really look forward to your results.

As the day faded and the sun was going behind the trees, I saw one more image I wanted to capture, but I could not get close enough with the 32mm. So out came the big gun, the Sigma 60-600mm Sport, set to "macro". This gave me just enough reach for one last successful capture:

One Last Meal Before Sundown

There are 44 images with the EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM on the M5 on my website here , including the ones above.
