Just getting used to my a6400. The transition from the Canon world is challenging.  A shot at the Cape May NJ zoo with my beat up (and much maligned by some) 18-200mm through the fence.

I find the Sony focuses completely different than the Canon in some instances. In this case, to blow out the front fence, I had to rack the lens all the way and then choose a focus point. The Canon was more automatic but the focus not as accurate. Just my opinion.

That's a very interesting shot. The only thing moving is the giant ship.

Balcony visitor this morning. I only had a few seconds to set the camera before he left. Sometimes it's good to have a small camera near you.

Thanks,

Just starting out, so I was playing around. The only light source in the second picture was an orangey pic from the Chromecast on my TV (about three meters away).

New to the forum as a poster.  I just got a new (used) Sony a6000 with only 687 shutter clicks.  It looked brand new.  I also picked up a used 24-240 FE lens.  Yes, it's a little odd as a combination.  I wanted to get an A7ii and my eventually do so but I would like to try this combination out first.  I got the lens early the week before and the camera on Wednesday so I had to learn as much as possible quickly for the IndyCar finale at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey.  The lens and camera shoots very well as a pair. I tried several AF modes such as flexible spot lock on auto track but the most successful technique was manual aperture, shutter, ISO, focus and shoot when the car got to the pre-focused spot.  By running the drive mode in mid speed, the likelihood of catching the right moment increased.
