250D vs 800D

I already have the 100D and looking to buy a new camera. I want to take photos in low light, but also family photos and carry the camera around with me when traveling. Between the 250D and the 800D which would you choose and why?

I've also been looking at the 800D to purchase, but weighing up whether to go the mirrorless route. I live in South Africa and both the 800D (twin lens bundle) and the EOS M50 (18-150 lens) sell for the same price. The 250D is a great camera but i find the view finder auto focus points limiting at just 9 whereas the 800D has 45 auto focus points. However the 250D does offer 4k video. DPREVIEW has written excellents reviews on both cameras and i would recommend reading these.

I think a fast aperture lens will get you better low light photos than any of the cameras you listed

Which lenses do you have?

Just the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, so I am looking a new camera with a different kit lens or buy a body and add a different lens later.

Like I said, you’ll have a bigger low light photo quality impact by getting a fast aperture lens instead of a new camera. Your kit lens is very slow.

There’s been little improvement in high iso noise since your SL100, but you could get a lens with an aperture that could be 2 stops faster or more than your kit lens. That would allow you to use 2 stops lower iso compared to your current lens.

The viewfinder is not really much bigger but the camera is much much larger.

Unless you need faster autofocus using off centre af points i don't see much reason

Yesterday i traded my sl1 for an sl2 and ive been hit with the reality that all ive really bought is longer battery life and better live view.....  i don't shoot videos
