90mm F2 and X-Pro2
16

I keep thinking about selling my 90mm for the 55-200 to give a bit more flexibility. But every time I do use it, the images are so nice that I can't bring myself to get rid of it!

AF Tracking on the X-Pro2 doing the business as well. This little boat was moving fast! Tracking through the optical finder was much easier than the EVF - and obviously no blackout either.

Thanks for looking

Don‘t do it. You create fantastic pictures with it.

I can see why it's hard to sell the 90mm... the 1st and 3rd are awesome !!

My goodness, thats lens porn.  That first shot is astounding in its sharpness and rendering.  It's almost breathtaking to me.  Don't sell that 90.  My god I would never be able to afford that thing but I wish I could.

Re: 90mm F2 and X-Pro2

You can't sell the 90! Pick up a used 50-230 for cheap flexibility; IQ is as good as the 55-200 at the expense of aperture. But with the shots you're getting, no, you can't sell the 90.

Thanks for showing us a portrait lens can actually do well for some landscapes too. Very sharp images 👍.

Re: 90mm F2 and X-Pro2

Nice images! I went out on a photo shoot this weekend armed with only a 35 f/1.4 and the 90 f/2. What a great combination...

Please don't sell it. You will miss it immensely

Re: 90mm F2 and X-Pro2

Thanks!

Been looking through some of my other images with this lens - it's probably my least used lens, but has captured some of my favourite images!

Hadn't considered the 50-230 - but you're right, it would make a nice option for travel, particularly landscapes when the slower aperture wouldn't matter so much anyway.

I think the 90 is going to have to stay

A zoom does not replace a prime, and vice versa. Nice photos.

Re: 90mm F2 and X-Pro2

I have both the 90 and the 55-200 and actually enjoy the 90 more for landscapes - mainly it's sharpness and colour.

Hi,

Dug out a few more from this lens and camera combo. It's definitely staying, even if I don't use it as much as I should

Ok, stop, you're hurting my eyes! 😁 Amazing photos, Andy!

Every one of these are photos I would be proud to hang on a wall. While I know you would capture amazing photos with the 55-200 also, most of what you've shown us could not be captured without the 90/2.

Perhaps the best advice is to get a used 55-200 or the 50-230. I will add one more piece of advice, if you don't mind... shoot more with the 90/2 lens and show us more of your amazing work.

Thank you for the inspiration; truly some of the better work I've seen here.

It's clear the 55-200 can shoot 'more' photos, but the 90 can certainly shoot more quality photos.

Those are very kind words - thank you.

I'll do my best to take the 90mm out more and post the results!

I'm not pretty sure it being just (...) a matter of gear here nonetheless I like how this lens renders on portraits, bravo!
